In 2004, Tom and Jennifer Bowen learned that their youngest son, Ben was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form brain cancer. After a long year of surgeries, treatments and therapies, Ben died. While devastated by his death, their kind and compassionate heart put them in a place to serve families facing the same difficult journey. Initially, they were very active in funding pediatric cancer research and treatment. From national television campaigns, meetings with corporate executives around the country and government officials, they were on the front lines generating much needed dollars for children facing cancer.

After raising millions of dollars and influencing legislative changes to help children and families facing childhood cancer, they found themselves inundated with calls and emails from families needing direction once they learned their child has cancer.

Understanding the need for a reliable and comprehensive source of information for parents seeking care for their children, they realized that a great, unmet need exists requiring immediate attention. With both personal and professional experience in leading an effort like this, they founded the Childhood Cancer Network and collaborate with parents who, like them have faced childhood cancer and want to help others.

They reside in the Memphis, TN area and have three other children ages 7, 2 1/2 and 1. Tom is an accomplished consultant and public speaker. He has been invited to speak for the White House, Fortune 500 companies, national events and audiences around the North America. He has consulted for companies like Motorola, Disney World, Sea World Orlando and Continental Automotive. Jennifer is a speech-language pathologist and currently works as an at-home mommy taking care of the Bowen boys.
